Hi Far West!
My name is Talia and I love food, theatre, and USY. I am 17 years young and reside in (usually) sunny Valley Village, California. I spend my summers in Malibu, California at Camp JCA Shalom, where my days are filled with friendship, hiking, and camp tomfoolery. This summer I will be returning to camp as a CIT, and could not be more excited! I attend Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts, although when people ask me where I attend school, I get flustered, partially because Cortines is the third high school I’ve attended, but mainly because my current school also goes by the nick names “9”, “VAPA”, and “Grand Arts”. My favorite academic subject is English. I absolutely love reading and writing.
I also love theatre, especially musical theatre. In fact, I found my love of USY through my love of theatre. I first became active in my fantastic chapter by participating in our annual “Rabbi’s Play”, a production directed by our Rabbi Emeritus, and produced by our youth department. I joined the cast and never wanted to leave. I have been absolutely addicted to USY ever since, participating in chapter, regional, and international programs. I can’t wait to work with all of you to make this next year sensational!
