Israel Affairs Vice President – Guy Topf
Whaddup Far West!
You must be wondering who is this “guy”?! (yes, pun intended!) Well let me tell you just a little bit about myself!
My name is Guy Topf and I could not be more thrilled to be your Israel Affairs Vice-President for the year! USY is my life, my dreams, my aspirations…okay maybe that sounds crazy, but USY certainly has had a huge impact on my life and I could not be more grateful!
For starters, I’m crazy. Absolutely positively insane. But isn’t every USYer?! My number one passion in life has always been Israel. It has been my one true love, ever since I was a little boy. I have always loved not only going to Israel, but just talking and reading about it. Ever since I joined USY, I knew I would want to spread my love and passion for Israel with the rest of the region, so you too could experience the place that I love so much, the place that we can all call home. From Haifa to Eilat, Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem, I want to teach you EVERYTHING there is to know about Israel! (well, at least what I can fit in during the next year!)
So let’s be real here, everyone thinks of me as that stereotypic Israeli. News Flash: I didn’t even start eating hummus until I went on USY Israel Pilgrimage (I would like to ask for a shout out to G4 2012!). Although I always prefer an Ice Aroma or shoko besakit!
A little bit about me: I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California alongside my wonderful older sister, Tal, who is currently a student at UC Davis. I attend El Camino Real Charter High School, where I am honored to serve as Student Body President. During my free time I like to read and take long walks on the beach…or maybe just hanging out with friends is better! Most importantly, I’m super indecisive! So never ask me what my favorite movie/book/TV show/food/app/color/ANYTHING, because odds are you will never get an answer! Far West, I could not be more excited for this year! I can’t wait to spend it with all of you!
