President - Michael Sacks
My name is Michael Sacks. How are all of you party people feeling? I feel fantastic, and I’m unbelievably excited and privileged to serve as your 2012-2013 Regional President! Some people have asked, who is this man, this legend, Michael Sacks? Well, I’m here to tell you a little bit about me.
For those of you who I haven’t had the honor of meeting yet, my name is Michael, Mike, or “Sacksophone” and I’d love to get to know you! I was born in Washington D.C., but I now live in Hidden Hills, California, reppin’ the super-classy 818! I’m a member of the class of 2013 at Sierra Canyon High School, where I serve on the Student Government Association and am actively involved in a number of clubs and teams. I also like rap and hip-hop because I’m a straight-up gangsta.
I’m one of five children, so that means I have four brothers and sisters, two of each. My sister Ashley is in USY with all of you, my sister Brittany is in Junior USY, and my brother Spencer is starting Kadima this year. My youngest brother, Dylan, is still too young to be a part of our USY family, but he can’t wait to get involved! Some people think having such a large family is crazy, but I love every second of it!
Some other things I enjoy include USY, Temple Aliyah, and hanging out with friends (especially USY’ers!). I’ve worked on the Executive/Programming RGB and I served as my chapter’s Exec VP last year. My favorite USY memories so far include Into the Nights, Regional Convention 2011, and the summer of 2010, when I went on Classic USY on Wheels with 45 other USY’ers from around the country! I’ve gained some of my greatest friends and made some of my most treasured memories through USY, and I hope that I can help you get as excited about Far West and USY as I am!
All of these different and seemingly random things about me mean just one thing: I’m excited to work hard and make sure that everyone has their best USY year yet! I’m pumped for this upcoming year and all of the opportunities it has to offer. I know this year will be fantastic as we pursue new regalia ideas, an online regalia catalogue, great and innovative events, focused fundraising plans, and the perfect ruach session!
