Parliamentarian - Jacob Roeder
Salutations!
I’m Jacob Roeder and as you probably already know by clicking on the link with my name on it I am the 2011-2012 Far West USY Regional Parliamentarian!!! Now that we all know why there is a page of me describing myself on the FWUSY website, I should proceed with describing myself. I am 5’9” and my shoe size ranges anywhere from 10 to 10½. I live in Beverly Hills, California and I go to you guessed it Beverly Hills High School. At school I learn and play sports! I am currently on my schools wrestling team which I have been on since my sophomore year and during my freshman and sophomore years (brace yourself this is pretty shocking) I played football…. That’s right you heard me right football! Little freshman/sophomore me played football! Now football was fun and all but there comes a time in life when you realize that you are better at doing some things then other things and let’s just leave it at that. Every summer since I was 8 years old I have been attending camp Alonim, which is the best camp in the world it’s kind of a fact. Any who I love Alonim and it is my favorite place in the whole world. Camp has influenced me so much and I believe that if it weren’t for camp I would have never joined USY.
From 3rd grade through 8th grade I went to Pressman Academy, which is the Jewish day school in Temple Beth Am, and although I was surrounded by friends who were involved in Kadima and USY throughout my time at Pressman I did not make the amazingly smart decision to join USY until the middle of sophomore year. Yes I was only involved in USY for a little over a year and a half and I am now regional parliamentarian. Also two years ago I didn’t even know what a parliamentarian was, because two years ago I wasn’t even in USY, but in the short time ive been involved in USY it has had a huge impact on me and I’m so excited to give back to it, and get many more people to learn to love it like I do.
That’s pretty much me Jacob Roeder your regional parliamentarian if you wanna know more about me well then you have to talk to me duhhh. I’m not a scary person and I think I’m really nice guy. I hope we have an amazing year together it’s gonna be awesome!!!
